Bauboa was born from a deep love for dogs.
As soon as I arrived in Scotland, I knew I wanted to dedicate myself to one meaningful project: creating a product that would truly improve the comfort and wellbeing of our four-legged companions.
Frustrated by the lack of dog beds that were both supportive and stylish, I set out to design something better—something that ticked all the boxes for dogs and their owners alike.

No, the bed on its own is not waterproof. Your Barney Bed comes with a water-resistant lining only. The water-resistant lining is intended for normal indoor use with dogs who are potty-trained and do not experience incontinence. This is usually sufficient to guard against light spills, moisture, dust mites and odours. However, we have created extra protection for your Barney Bed with the Waterproof Lining Kit, which you can purchase separately. It is an excellent choice for ageing dogs, light outdoor use and accident-prone pups. It will fully waterproof your Barney Bed. Please ensure the zips of your waterproof lining kit are facing downwards once fitted.
The BarneyCurl Bed comes with a waterproof lining already included. The base mattress and top foam are encased in a removable and washable waterproof lining, making your BarneyCurl Bed 100% protected from any water spills or accidents.
This is completely normal. To ensure safe and efficient delivery, our beds are carefully compressed and vacuum-sealed for shipping.
Once unpacked, the bed will begin to expand and typically regains its full shape within 24 hours. Your dog can start using it right away — resting on the bed will not affect the expansion process.
Simply give it a little time, and it will settle into its final form, just as shown in our photos.
Stable & Non-Slip Design
Bauboa beds feature a non-skid base and a solid, weighty structure—so they stay firmly in place, no matter how excited (or sleepy) your dog is. This added stability is especially important for dogs with joint issues, giving them confidence and ease when getting in and out of bed.
While the Bau Boa Bed is made with high-quality, durable materials, it is not indestructible. It’s designed for rest and relaxation, not for chewing or heavy digging. Damage caused by biting, tearing, or aggressive scratching is not covered under our policy. We recommend supervising dogs with destructive habits to help preserve the integrity of the bed.
To choose the right Bauboa bed, we recommend measuring your dog from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail. This gives you the most accurate idea of which size will offer them full-body support and comfort.

The small sized Barney Bed measures L29” x W23”, which will fit a fully stretched out Chihuahua while giving them room to roll around and find their perfect spot. You can consider adding a small blanket or pillow to help give them something to nuzzle their extra small noses into.

At Bauboa, we proudly manufacture our beds in our own facility in China, where we maintain full control over quality, safety, and working conditions. We understand that international production can raise concerns, but we want to be fully transparent about our commitment to ethical practices.
Our factory follows strict ethical and environmental standards, including OEKO-TEX® certification, and all workers are paid well above average industry wages. By producing everything ourselves, we ensure every detail meets our high standards, from the first design sketch to the final product.
We are not resellers or drop shippers. Every Bauboa bed is thoughtfully designed in-house to offer long-lasting comfort and durability that both dogs and owners can rely on.
While local manufacturing is sometimes seen as the gold standard, it doesn’t always mean better quality. What it does guarantee, however, is significantly higher retail prices. By keeping production in-house overseas, we can offer premium products without inflating costs, making quality accessible without compromise.
Bauboa beds come with a 12-month limited warranty covering manufacturing defects, along with a 5-year guarantee against sagging of the memory foam.
This limited warranty covers issues caused by faulty materials or workmanship. Please note that Bauboa cannot be held responsible for any damage resulting from failure to follow the care guidelines provided.

If you’ve received your Bau Boa Bed but haven’t opened the vacuum seal, you’re eligible for a return or size exchange. To qualify, the bed must remain unopened in its original vacuum packaging,in brand-new condition.
To begin a return, please contact us within 7 days of delivery by emailing [email protected]. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
Once we receive your item, we’ll inspect it and notify you by email. If everything is in unused, resaleable condition, we’ll issue a refund to your original payment method or arrange an exchange if requested. Refunds may take up to 10 business days to appear on your statement. If it takes longer, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
For hygiene reasons, we’re unable to accept returns once the vacuum seal on your dog bed has been broken, as it expands and can no longer be repackaged.
If you’re unsure about the size when your order arrives, please avoid opening the sealed packaging and get in touch with our team at [email protected]. We’ll be happy to assist with a return or exchange, provided the bed remains in its original, sealed condition.
The soft top surface of the Bau Boa Bed is designed for easy maintenance. It can be cleaned using a damp cloth and mild detergent. We recommend washing at a moderate temperature and avoiding any bleach or harsh chemicals to preserve the quality and feel of the fabric.
The internal foam components should not be machine washed. They are already protected by a water-resistant barrier and can simply be wiped clean if needed.
If the bed is placed directly on tile or wooden flooring, we advise lifting it occasionally to clean and dry the surface underneath. Your dog’s body heat may cause condensation to form over time when resting on colder surfaces. For added insulation and to reduce moisture build-up, placing the bed on a rug or mat is recommended.
By following these simple care steps, your Bau Boa Bed will stay fresh, clean, and in top condition for years to come.
We strongly advise not washing the memory foam itself. Instead, you can machine wash the outer Bauboa cover as needed, and gently wipe down the inner protective linings with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
If you have our Waterproof Lining Kit, it can be machine washed on a cold cycle—just be sure to hang it to dry, rather than using a tumble dryer.
No. Please only hang to dry inside out and in the shade. A lot of our covers dry super quickly in just a few hours!
At Bauboa, we’ve carefully designed our beds using only non-toxic, pet-safe materials. Our memory foam is CertiPUR-US® certified, meaning it meets strict standards for content and emissions.
However, while the foam is safe to lie on, it’s not meant to be ingested. We’ve never had reports of dogs chewing through or eating the foam, but if you suspect your dog has done so, please contact your vet immediately. Ingesting foam can lead to intestinal blockages and may pose a serious health risk.
